Jaime Lewis

Christine (she/her), is a Queens native living in Astoria with her husband and two children whose transformational home births made her interestested in birthwork. Christine is a Full Spectrum Doula, a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor and Certified Childbirth Educator. Her training included a special focus on: Black Perinatal & Infant Health Disparities, Queer & Trans Birth, Disability Justice, Trauma Informed Care, Caring for Partners, Food Insecurity & Access, Postpartum, Infant Feeding, Bereavement & Loss, Adoption and Surrogacy. Past clients have told her that she brings a calm, positive energy to births and that she is a strong advocate for her clients’ wishes. Her goal is for her clients to emerge from their birth experience feeling that they had agency and autonomy over their births regardless of the outcome and to continue to be a resource to her clients after the birth as questions arise.

She holds a BA and MA in International Relations and professional experience in the non-profit sector. In her spare time, she loves to knit and build community (she started a group called the Queens Knitting Circle), cook, bike and to learn and share as much as she can about reproductive justice.

Christine often partners with Jaime Lewis for births.

Jaime is a DONA trained birth and postpartum doula. She comes to this work with overwhelming love and passion. Inspired by her own three (very different) births, Jaime’s approach is completely judgment-free. She believes strongly that you should have your birth your way. By providing emotional and physical support as well as information and evidence, she hopes to instill confidence and strength in the hands of her clients.

As well as being a doula, Jaime is also working on her certification as a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor.
